Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all Portable Appliance Testing (PAT testing) services provided by PATMAN (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the client (“you”, “your”).
By booking our services, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. Services Provided
PATMAN provides Portable Appliance Testing services in Huddersfield and surrounding areas. Testing is carried out in accordance with current IET Code of Practice and relevant UK health and safety guidance at the time of inspection.
2. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for ensuring all appliances to be tested are accessible, safe to test, and disconnected where required.

The client must inform us of any known faults, damage, or issues with appliances prior to testing.

We are not responsible for delays or incomplete testing caused by lack of access, unavailable equipment, or unsafe working conditions.
3. Payment Terms

Payment is due immediately upon completion of the job.

Accepted payment methods are cash or bank transfer.

No certification, reports, or documentation will be issued until full payment has been received.

Late payment may result in documentation being withheld until payment is cleared.
4. Certification and Documentation

PAT test results and certification will only be provided once payment has been received in full.

Certificates reflect the condition of appliances at the time of testing only.
5. Liability

PATMAN accepts no liability for any faults, failures, or damage that occur after testing has been completed.

PAT testing is a visual and electrical safety inspection and cannot guarantee the future performance or lifespan of any appliance.

We shall not be held liable for loss, damage, injury, or interruption to business caused by the use or failure of appliances tested, except where required by law.
6. Failed Equipment

Any appliance that fails testing will be clearly identified and recorded.

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure failed equipment is repaired, replaced, or removed from use.

PATMAN is not responsible for equipment that remains in use after failing a test.
7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We ask that any cancellations or changes to appointments are made with reasonable notice.

Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to a call-out charge.
8. Access and Safety

We reserve the right to refuse to test any appliance or work in any environment that is deemed unsafe.

Testing will be carried out with minimal disruption, but we cannot be held responsible for any downtime resulting from necessary safety procedures.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
